Spring and Summer
 
Spring Tidy Up -
Clean up and check the garden over after the winter;
Inspect tender species for frost damage.
 
Planting -
Spring and summer bedding displays;
Containers and hanging baskets;
Fruit, vegetables and herbs.
 
Lawns -
Ensure your lawn has the correct nutrient levels;
A healthy lawn will resist wear and tear, drought, and give a superior appearance;
Eradicate any competing / unsightly weeds or moss;
Maintain a healthy lawn with regular mowing.
 
Pests and
Disease -
Identify pests and disease if or when they become apparent;
Advise and take remedial action where necessary.
 
Pruning -
Shrubs and climbers when necessary;
Cherry and plum trees.
 
Hedges -
Trim hedges and topiary when necessary.
 
Training and
Staking -
 
 
Climbers, wall shrubs and herbaceous perennials.
 
Borders -
Dead-heading, weeding, watering and feeding.
 
 
Autumn and Winter
 
 
Autumn Tidy Up - 
 
General tidy-up to include leaf collection, removal of bedding displays, weeding and forking over.
 
Planting -
Trees, shrubs and hedging supplied and planted;
Bulbs planted ready for Spring colour;
Transplanting of existing plants/species which are in the wrong position.
 
Pruning -
Ornamental trees and shrubs; fruit;
Increase vigour, light levels to surrounding plants, rejuvenation of key specimens;
Improve shape and appearance, flowering and cropping;
Reduce overcrowding, wind-rock and disease.
 
Hedges -
Give hedges a final trim of the season in preparation for winter;
Reduce overgrown hedges to the required shape and size from existing plants.
 
Lawns -
 
 Raking out of thatch, top-dressing and spiking in preparation for the next growing season.
 
Borders -
Lifting and dividing herbaceous plants;
Clearing away all debris from borders;
Forking over, spreading manure or compost.
